Can Snagit do screen recording? ›

Open the application or window you want to capture on the screen. In the Capture window, click the All-in-One tab and click the Capture button or press Print Screen (Windows) or Control+Shift+C (Mac). The orange crosshairs appear. Click and drag on the screen to select the area to capture.

Recording longer than one hour can lead to problems with the video or a failed video capture.

To start recording, click the Record button or press Shift+F11 (Windows) or Shift+Command+1 (Mac). To stop recording, click the Stop button or press Shift+F11 (Windows) or Shift+Command+1 (Mac). The preview opens. Click the Upload button to send the video to the selected destination.

Start Snipping Tool and select the window

Next, click the Record button with the camcorder icon (the camera icon is for screen capture only) to let the tool know you want to use this feature. Then click on the +New button in the top left corner of the window to begin a new screen recording.

In the top toolbar, press the Record button, then press New. Click to drag and drop a rectangle indicating the portion of the screen you would like to record. Press Start and you will see a 3-second countdown begin for your recording. After you finish, press Stop.

To start, open the Snipping Tool from the Start menu or by searching for it. In the Snipping Tool's interface, you'll find an option to switch from image capture mode to screen recording mode.
